I got to see James Gandolfini in God of Carnage in Los Angeles a while back from the front row where I attempted to draw. The lights were so bright from the stage and my sketchbook was so big that I feared one of the actors was going to see me and my page turning was going to bother them... so this is all I managed to do.
Gandolfini stomped around the stage like a caged bear. He was charming, funny, terrifying all at the same time. He should have been in the filmed version which does not do the material justice.
I am aware that this play received a ton of awards but I thought it was Act 1 of a play the writer didn't finish.
